Since its establishment in 1990, the Thai Welfare Association (TWA) has been a steadfast pillar of support for the Thai community in Australia, displaying unwavering commitment to their well-being and progress.
Over the years, TWA's dedication has made a significant impact. In recognition of the challenges faced by the Thai-Australian community, TWA embarked on a crucial partnership with Charter Australia. This collaboration, celebrated in a heartwarming ceremony held on July 24, 2023, marked a significant milestone. It not only offered 25 Thai-descent students the opportunity to graduate but also addressed the shortage of workers in the aged care sector, aligning with TWA's mission to uplift and empower the Thai community in Australia.
This graduation ceremony was graced by the presence of Khun Hataya Khusakul, Chief Royal Thai Consul-General in Sydney, along with Ms. Khun Anukul and Ms. Khun Kay from the Thai Welfare Association (TWA). Their attendance underscored the strong partnership between the Royal Thai Consulate-General, TWA, and Charter Australia in supporting student's studies and finding employment in aged care within Sydney's Thai community.
This was not the first time the Royal Thai Consulate-General participated in Charter Australia's graduation ceremony; they had previously shown their support in May 2021, highlighting their dedication to the education and well-being of Thai students in Australia.
