I worked as a registered nurse in Japan for five years before coming to Australia in 2018. After spending two months here to see if I could adapt, I returned on a Working Holiday visa in 2019. A friend told me about Charter Australia, so I decided to visit—and I immediately loved the atmosphere. The staff were so warm and welcoming that I chose to enrol.
I was nervous at first because I didn’t think my English was strong enough, but many other students felt the same. Their support really encouraged me, and being in such a multicultural class—students from Japan, Nepal, the Philippines, and Australia—helped improve my English every day. The diversity pushed me to communicate more and gave me real confidence.
Most of our instructors were qualified registered nurses in Australia, and I learned so much from their experience. I now clearly understand the differences between the role of a Registered Nurse and an Assistant in Nursing. After graduating, Charter Australia continued to support me with job preparation and work placement, which made transitioning into the workplace much easier. I’m truly grateful for everything I learned and for the support I received.
