Overview

The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support reflects the role of individuals who provide person-centered support in community, home, or residential care settings. Working under supervision and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, they follow individualized plans to support people requiring assistance due to aging, disability, or other reasons.

Driven by strong employer demand in regional areas and student preference for online learning, we are trialing an intensive hybrid study model. This includes at least eight weeks of online classes, followed by concentrated practical training and work placement.

To achieve this qualification, candidates must complete a minimum of 120 hours of work placement.

Delivery: Intensive Hybrid Class + Face-to-face Practical Sessions

Delivery Mode

This course will be delivered in a structured and intensive format, combining eight weeks of online learning with trainers and two days of on-campus practical skills training.

Training Schedule

  • Online Classes: Held two days per week for eight weeks.
  • Practical Days: Conducted face-to-face on campus during Week 4 (two days). Attendance is mandatory. If missed, graduation will be delayed.
  • Total Training Duration: Nine weeks (8 weeks online + 1 week with 2 practical days).
  • Enrolment Duration: 4-6 months

Flexible Intakes

You can choose from the following start dates:

  • Week 1 
  • Week 4
  • Week 5

Graduation Options

You have flexibility in completing your studies based on your work placement schedule:

  • Graduate in Week 9 – Attend practical days on time and start your work placement from Week 5.
  • Graduate in Week 12 – Complete all training first, then start your work placement from Week 10.

This course is best suited for highly motivated students, particularly those in rural and remote areas.
