 This page outlines tuition fees, payment methods, refund conditions, and deferral options for all students at Charter Australia. 

Domestic Students

Domestic students include:

  • Australian citizens
  • Australian permanent residents
  • New Zealand citizens, or
  • Humanitarian Visa Holder, OR a Partner Visa Holder whose sponsor is a current or past Humanitarian Visa Holder

Fees & Government Subsidies

Charter Australia is an approved provider under the Smart and Skilled program.

Government funding may be available to eligible students. Eligibility criteria apply. For details, please visit our Smart and Skilled Page. 

Fee-free training places may also be available under government initiatives, subject to funding availability. For details, please visit our NSW Fee Free Iniative.

If you are not eligible for government subsidy, course fees will be provided during the application process.

International Students

International students are those who come to Australia to study under a Student Visa (Subclass 500).

Study Work Program Students

Study and Work Program (SWP) Students 

Students on Australia’s Working Holiday visas (Subclass 417 and Subclass 462) are classified as Study and Work Program (SWP) students at Charter Australia.

Payment Methods

Payment options are outlined in your Letter of Offer and invoice. Available methods include:

  • Bank transfer
  • Credit or debit card
  • EFTPOS

Non-Payment of Fees

Payment of fees by the due date is a condition of enrolment.

If fees remain unpaid, Charter Australia may:

  • Restrict access to learning resources and results
  • Prevent further enrolment
  • Withhold transcripts or certification
  • Cancel enrolment following written notice

Deferral

Students may request to defer their course commencement.

  • 28 days or more before commencement: No additional fee
  • Less than 28 days before commencement: $200 administration fee applies
  • After course commencement: Full tuition fees remain payable unless supported by medical evidence or extreme personal hardship

Deferral requests must be submitted in writing using the approved form.



Refund Conditions and Procedures

General Conditions
  • All refund requests must be submitted in writing using the Refund Request Form
  • Students must also submit an Application for Withdrawal or Deferral form (where applicable)
  • Refunds are paid to the original payer unless otherwise authorised in writing
  • If no refund request is submitted, fees may be held as a credit for future enrolment
Domestic Students – Refunds
  • Withdrawal 14 days or more before commencement:
    100% refund of tuition fees
  • Withdrawal less than 14 days before commencement or non-attendance:
    No refund
Provider Default (Domestic)

If Charter Australia cannot deliver a course, students may choose to:

  • Transfer to another Charter Australia course
  • Transfer to another provider with full credit and no additional fees
  • Receive a refund for unused tuition fees

Refunds are processed within 10 working days.

 

International Students – Refunds
Student-Initiated Refunds
  • Visa refusal:
    95% refund of all fees (official evidence required)
  • Withdrawal 28 days or more before commencement (visa granted):
    70% refund of tuition fees
  • Withdrawal less than 28 days before commencement (visa granted):
    50% refund of tuition fees
  • After commencement:
    No refund unless supported by medical evidence or extreme personal hardship
Student Default

Handled in accordance with the written agreement and the ESOS Act.

Provider Default

Students may choose to:

  • Receive a refund of unused prepaid fees within two weeks; or
  • Be placed in an alternative course at no additional cost

If required, the Tuition Protection Service (TPS) will assist.

Refunds are processed within 28 days (or within two weeks for visa refusal or provider default).

 

Study and Work Program (SWP) Students – Refunds
  • Application fee: Non-refundable
  • Reservation fee ($500): Non-refundable
Visa Refusal
  • 95% refund of all fees (evidence required) 
Withdrawal
  • 28 days or more before commencement: 70% refund
  • Less than 28 days before commencement: 50% refund
  • After commencement: No refund unless exceptional circumstances apply
No Refund Applies If:
  • Enrolment is cancelled due to breach of policies or visa conditions
  • Student does not commence the course as scheduled
Provider Default
  • Transfer to another Charter Australia course
  • Transfer to another provider with full credit and no additional fees
  • Receive a refund for unused tuition fees

Refunds are processed within 10 working days after receiving a valid request.

 

Refund Payments and Appeals
  • Refunds are paid in Australian dollars using the original payment method
  • If a refund is declined, students may lodge an appeal within 20 working days under the complaints process

Fees Protection Clause 

According to Standard for RTOs 2015, Clause 7.3—Protecting pre-paid fees by students, Charter Australia will not charge in advance more than $1500 including enrolment fees, tuition fees, materials fees and any other fee component that is a mandatory payment for the course. Course fees will be invoiced for a maximum of $1500 in advance. The Fees Protection clause is applicable to Domestic students and Study & Work Program students

ITEM FEES DESCRIPTION
1. Course Materials Most course materials are provided in electronic format in the Student Portal. For students’ convenience, hard copies for certain assessments are also provided to the students with no additional charge. However, if students require specific printing of course materials, a small fee will be charged:
Health & Community Services:
Lessons and/or Assessment Tasks – $5 per unit
Work placement Logbook – $5 per logbook
2. Printing Administration staff is able to assist our students to print course related materials at 5c per page.
3. Course Related Fees RPL Application Fee: $50
Course Extension Fee: $100 per week for up to 6 weeks. Please note: All extensions are applied from the enrolment expiry date without exception.
Assessment Repeat Fee: Students have 3 free attempts for each assessment task. Any extra will incur an $100 per attempt per assessment/task.
Course Repeat Fees: $300 per Cert III & IV course unit, $600 per Diploma course unit
Reactive System Access: Students have four (4) additional weeks system access to the assessment after the assessment due date. For example, if an assessment task is due in four (4) weeks time, the system will allow student access until the end of the eighth (8th) week. To reactive the access to the particular assessment will incur a fee of $100.
5. First Aid Course If HLTAID0011 Provide First Aid is one of the required units in the qualification which the student has enrolled in, there will be no charge for the student on the condition that no credit transfer has been applied for this unit.
Booking for the students who have enrolled into the above qualification courses will be processed by Charter’s Administration.
For all other students, booking must be made via Charter’s website and booking fees be paid online.
6. Student Cards Student will be issued a Student ID Card on enrolment at no cost.
If students apply for replacement student cards for any reason (i.e. Lost or damaged), the fee of reissuing student card is $20.
7. Issuing First Aid Certificate After having successfully completed the first aid certificate unit, students will be issued an electronic PDF version of the certificate. A $20 preparation fee will be charged if a hardcopy is required.
8. Other Certificate Replacement Charges may apply to certificate replacement.
Softcopy – $0
Hardcopy – $20 (Postage within Australia is included)

9. Police Check and USI Students are requested to do Police Check and obtain USI at their own cost and time. Service fee of $20 will be charged to student who requires full assistance.
Police Check costs:
$20 for volunteering
$50 for employment
10. Change of CoE $150
11. Vaccination $20 for flu vaccination at GP or pharmacy
12. Serology test Depends on student's insurance cover
13. Host Charges Aged care: No fee
Hospitals: Depends on hospital groups range wide is $600 to $980
