What is Charter E-Campus?

Study from where you are. Attend practical training when required. Complete work placement with Charter Australia’s support.

Charter E-Campus is Charter Australia’s flexible delivery model for selected full qualification courses. It combines:

  • online learning through live online classes, self-paced study, or mixed online delivery
  • practical training, where required, through short face-to-face sessions at Charter Australia’s North Sydney campus
  • work placement support for all full qualification courses

Charter E-Campus is not simply a fully online course. Some courses require students to attend practical training before work placement. This helps students develop hands-on skills and prepare for real workplace environments.

All full qualification courses include mandatory work placement. Charter Australia supports students to arrange work placement in Sydney, regional areas, interstate locations, or other suitable locations where possible.

Charter E-Campus also includes selected online preparation courses, such as Online Foundation English for Study and Work, to help students prepare for further study and employment pathways.

Practical Training, Where Required

Charter E-Campus is not a purely online course.

In health, care, and community services training, hands-on practical learning is essential. Students must practise real skills, use industry equipment, receive guidance from experienced professionals, and build confidence before entering a real workplace environment.

At Charter Australia, we ensure students are properly trained, supported, and workplace-ready before commencing their required work placement.

Who is Charter E-Campus For?

Charter E-Campus is especially suitable for:

  • Regional, rural, and interstate students
  • Working Holiday Visa holders and other visa holders with limited study periods in Australia
  • Students who wish to complete part of their course before arriving in Australia
  • Working students and/or students with family or personal commitments, who require flexible study options

For many Working Holiday Visa holders and other eligible visa holders, Charter E-Campus allows them to begin learning and complete a significant portion of their studies online before arriving in Australia. This provides greater flexibility and helps students maximise their available study period in Australia while still completing the required practical training and work placement components.

Please note: All qualification courses require mandatory work placement to complete the course. Tourist visa holders are not eligible to undertake work placement in Australia and are therefore not eligible for enrolment.

FAQ

Is Charter E-Campus fully online?

Not always. Some courses may be completed through online learning and work placement, while other courses require short face-to-face practical training. Charter E-Campus is flexible, but it is not simply a purely online course.

Do I need to come to Sydney?

It depends on the course. Some courses require students to attend practical training at Charter Australia’s North Sydney campus for approximately 2–3 days. Each course page should clearly explain this requirement.

For students travelling from regional areas, interstate or overseas, Charter Australia may also provide guidance with:

  • short-term accommodation options
  • homestay options, where available
  • travel and study planning
  • practical training schedules
  • work placement planning

Each course page will explain whether Sydney practical training is required.

Does every course require work placement?

All full qualification courses require work placement. Charter Australia supports students to arrange work placement in Sydney or in the region and state that you are in as part of their training journey.

Can Charter arrange work placement outside Sydney?

Charter Australia will make every effort to support placement arrangements for students in different locations. In some regional, interstate or remote areas, students may also need to help identify suitable local host organisations.

Can I start before arriving in Australia?

Yes, students may be able to begin their online learning before arriving in Australia.

This can be especially helpful for Working Holiday Visa holders and other eligible visa holders who want to make the best use of their time in Australia. Students may be able to complete a significant part of their theory learning online first, then come to Australia for any required practical training and work placement.

This pathway may help students become qualified sooner and move more quickly towards employment opportunities in care, community services, early childhood education or health support roles.

Is Charter E-Campus suitable for Working Holiday Visa holders?

Yes, Charter E-Campus may be a strong option for eligible Working Holiday Visa holders who want to take Charter Australia’s Study and Work Program.

Through Charter E-Campus, students may be able to:

  • begin online learning before arriving in Australia
  • complete much of the theory component flexibly
  • attend short practical training in Sydney if the course requires it
  • complete mandatory work placement in Australia
  • gain an Australian qualification linked to real industry needs
  • become job-ready for roles in care, community services, early childhood education or health support

This can be a practical Study + Work pathway for Working Holiday Visa holders who have limited time in Australia and want to use that time wisely.

Can I get a refund if my visa is refused or I change my mind after starting with Charter E-Campus?

Refunds may be available in some circumstances, including visa refusal or change of mind. The refund amount will depend on when the request is made, the course stage, and any training or services already provided. For a full explanation of refund conditions, timeframes and how to apply, please refer to Charter Australia’s Fees & Payments page.
