Who is Charter E-Campus For?

 

Charter E-Campus is especially suitable for: 

  • Regional, rural, and interstate students
  • Working Holiday Visa holders and other visa holders with limited study periods in Australia
  • Students who wish to complete part of their course before arriving in Australia
  • Working students and/or students with family or personal commitments, who require flexible study options

For many Working Holiday Visa holders and other eligible visa holders, Charter E-Campus allows them to begin learning and complete a significant portion of their studies online before arriving in Australia. This provides greater flexibility and helps students maximise their available study period in Australia while still completing the required practical training and work placement components.

Please note: All qualification courses require mandatory work placement to complete the course. Tourist visa holders are not eligible to undertake work placement in Australia and are therefore not eligible for enrolment.

Which English course should I choose?

The best course depends on your current English level and your goal.

As a guide, if your English level is low, you may start with Online Foundation English.

If you are preparing for healthcare, care work or nursing communication, English for Healthcare and Nursing may be suitable.

If you are an overseas nurse or healthcare professional preparing for your Nursing OET, then an OET Preparation course might be suitable.

What IELTS level do I need?

As a guide:

  • Online Foundation English may suit students from around IELTS 3.0 or equivalent
  • English for Healthcare and Nursing may suit students from around IELTS 4.5 or equivalent
  • OET Preparation may suit students from around IELTS 5.5 or equivalent

Students may study online from overseas or in Australia, depending on their situation and course suitability.

Can I start studying my English Course before I arrive in Australia?

Yes. Offshore students may be able to start online English study through Charter E-Campus before arriving in Australia.

This can help students prepare for practical training, work placement, OSCE, NCLEX-RN, OET or future study.

Can English help me enter the Study and Work Program?

Yes. English can help students prepare for the Study and Work Program by improving workplace communication, study skills and confidence before practical training and work placement.

Do you offer OET preparation?

Yes. Charter Australia plans to offer OET Preparation for overseas nurses and healthcare professionals who need to improve healthcare English and prepare for OET-related requirements.

Intake dates, duration and fees should be confirmed before enrolment.

Can I study English and NCLEX-RN preparation at the same time?

Some students may be able to study English and NCLEX-RN preparation at the same time, especially if they already have a reasonable English test score and ability.


Other students may need to complete an English Language training course first.

 

Charter Australia can recommend a suitable study plan after reviewing your English level and nursing background.

Can I study English and a qualification course at the same time?

This may be possible for some students, depending on the course, timetable, visa conditions and English level.

Can Working Holiday visa holders study English?

Working Holiday visa holders may be able to study English, subject to their visa conditions and the total study period allowed under their visa.

Students should check their visa conditions and speak with Charter Australia before enrolling.

Are classes in the evening?

Our Online English Language courses are planned for flexible online delivery in evenings where possible, to accommodate students who work shifts or study from overseas time zones.

Are recorded lectures available?

Recorded lectures may be available for students who cannot attend, but this should be confirmed before the timetable is released and enrolment begins. 

How many students are in each class?

Online classes are planned to remain small, with a proposed maximum of 12 students.

Small group sessions may have fewer students to support speaking practice and feedback.
