HLTHPS007 – Administer and monitor medications describes the skills and knowledge required to administer medications to people and monitor them, as per the delegation from a relevant health professional, in accordance with legislation and the employing organisation’s medication policies and practice

Entry Requirements

Delivery Mode

Mixed with online and face-to-face classes and work placement assessments. 

  • 3 x 5-hour classes plus workplace assessment. 
  • Practical assessment is conducted in a residential aged care facility (minimum 1 day for each student or as required until their practical skills are fully assessed.)
  • Statement of Attainment is issued once all assessments are completed successfully.
  • Maximum enrolment period is 8 weeks.

Course Fees: $800 per student.

Pathways to Further Studies

HLTHPS007 Administer and momitor medications is a common elective unit for Certificate IV and Diploma level qualifications within health and community services training packages. The unit of competency can be used to seek credit transfer towards these qualifications.
