Orientation

All Students

Students will have an Orientation/Induction session prior to the course commencement date. The purpose of Orientation is to inform new students of the various important aspects of Charter Australia, course progress requirements, attendance requirements, the college’s policies and procedures and support services available.

International Students

International students will also receive an additional orientation, with useful information about living, studying and working in Australia. Topics include:

• Introduction to living in Sydney
• Tips for getting around Sydney on public transport
• Advice about staying safe in Australia, including emergency services
• Information on health care and seeing a doctor
• Guidance on finding a job and working in Australia
• Your legal rights when working, shopping and renting a property
• Suggestions for improving your English outside the classroom
• We’ll even teach you a bit of Aussie slang
