Our 14-week Study and Work Program in Early Childhood Education and Care offers working holiday visa holders the complete Australian experience. This program combines a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care with Charter Australia’s long-running Job Assist Program, providing both training and job placement support in one package. Course Structure

  • Duration: 14 weeks including 10 weeks full time class and 4 weeks work placement
  • Delivery Mode: Blended learning with a mix of online theory and practical on-campus workshops. Majority training is delivered in a classroom environment.
  • Work Placement: 160 hours of supervised work placement is a requirement of this course. 
  • Job Assist Program: The program allows students to be ready for job hunting through 2 services:
    • Job Ready Workshops
      • Resume Writing & Reviewing and Job Interview Preparation.
    • Job Referral Process

Assessment Methods: 

Two main types of assessments:

  • Written assessments, including questions completed by students in their own time

  • Demonstration of practical skills, observed by your trainer and/or workplace supervisors

Work placement start and finish time will be decided by the host childcare centre. Normal work time is from 9am to 5pm.

  • What are the fees?

In addition to the program fees paid to Charter Australia, there are additional fees required to work in a childcare centre, including a Working with Children Check (WWCC) application, which costs $105 for paid workers.
  • Do I need any prior experience?
    No prior experience is required although experience in early childhood education is preferred. This course is designed for those new to the field or those looking to formalise their existing skills and find employment in the Australian early childhood education sector.
  • Can I study part-time?
    No, this is an intensive full time study course which requires five days classroom training for consecutive 10 weeks followed by 4 weeks full time work placement.
