The program is tailored to give students the language skills to work in healthcare settings, preparing them for the professional language needs of the industry. Students will focus on nursing topics and professional communication skills relevant to their career path.

Target vocabulary specific to healthcare and nursing, including vital signs, signs and symptoms, medication and more. Students practise using useful vocabulary in role plays and real-world writing tasks.

Communication Skills
Focus on real workplace communication skills such as admitting a patient, triage and handovers. Learn workplace jargon and expressions. Gain confidence to communicate effectively in the Australian workplace.

Optional visits to local hospitals, where students can gain valuable first-hand experience in Australia.

Intake Dates
Charter Australia adopts a rolling enrolment model. Domestic students have the flexibility to enrol in any week when a new unit of competency commences. International students, on the other hand, are able to enrol at the start of each school term. Please refer to the Term Dates for further information.

Course Duration & Delivery
- Duration: 26 weeks (20 weeks tuition, 6 weeks break)
- Students can commence at the beginning of each school term.
- 15 weeks intensive program is offered to working holiday visa holders as part of Charter Australia's Study and Work Program.

Pathways to Further Studies
Students may use the English for Healthcare and Nursing (Intermediate) course as pathway to entry into a vocational qualification at Charter Australia. A number of qualifications are available for international students.
